Thanks for the comments......I'm glad you noticed the doppler effect, you have to do about 80mph to notice. The logging scene was put down fast to cover an area the morning of my open house, it is temporary, I will be putting in crossover's there and a second level. the second level I think will be like the atlas york display. That should fill in the center of my island oval. So far everything comes apart in 2x8 foot sections. The trains will be able to access either elevation and reverse direction.

Thanks~ I like that term COFC. The train is pulled by two NYC Mikado's, I forgot to get the chuff out of sequence. This is a big oval in this video, last winter I rebuilt and put a peninsula in the middle. It now as a 2.2 precent grade to climb. All the scenery was reused or expanded. If it rains today I'll try do do the same video on the current layout. Have to practice with my new camera.

How'd you double head the steamers?  This has been something that I've noticed, and it has bugged me, but most nice steamers don't have front couplers!  Of the four I have, only one does, and it's a little Lionel 0-6-0 Dockside, not exactly the double heading type.  Nor can I do a helper with a steamer.  Do you have to mod the locomotives, or have you found ones that actually have a front coupler?

Hi sinclair~ The MTH premier steamers come with a optional dummy three rail coupler. I run them as a lash up in DCS. An 0-6-0 sure can double head. I had two little 0-4-0 Lionel steamers and doubled them pulling a log train, looked great. I have seen video's of switchers used as rear helper getting trains moving out of yard.
