Duplicate Engines | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have two identical MTH premier Northern Pacific Yellowstones (Proto 2), both road number 5002. I would like to run them both at the same time on my layout using my DCS system (one TIU and 3 remotes). Can I do so? If so, how?

Can't you just plop them on the track and search for engines? What happens if you do that?

Just go ahead and add them to the remote. DCS will assign each a different ID#. However, they will be assigned the same name. Regardless, they will respond to commands as two different engines, which they are.

If you want to make the names different, just give one a Custom Name.
