Running Ross switches with DZ-1000's.  Switch machines and momentary toggles (with led's)  run off the Z-4000, 14 VAC power port.  Connect them to an AIU and they run fine, with  leds on controllers and switch machines lit on the respective switch position.

HOWEVER - when I take the controller out of the circuit - the leds blink on change of switch position, but remain dark.  Does anyone have the DZ-1000 running thru an AIU (without the controller) and have the leds on the switch machine operation and remaining on in current switch position?

With the controller in the circuit the voltages read 6.5VDC (both leds are lit) and the other side of the switch ((leds not lit) reads -2.5VDC.  I do not want to ruin a DZ-1000 or cause a short by just adding wires to the circuit.

Maybe Dennis can help?

That's normal behavior.

The DZ1000 needs the DZ1002 in the circuit in order to keep the DZ1000's LEDs lit.
