I have an early Lionel 6-18087 4-6-2 Pacific Command upgradable Locomotive. I can't seem to locate the kit for it on the Lionel site although I did locate the 72-2960-250 instructions for the conversion.
It looks like the kit is a single R2LC Board.
I am looking for the part number or version of the R2LC board that I need for my Lionel.

Thank you for the quick reply. Lionel shows it in stock described as a R2LC/R4LC code 08. Do you know if the R4LC-008 is interchangeable?
I am asking because I have the later in my box of Lionel goodies.
R2LC C08 are NLA. You can use the replacement listed or the 8bit R4LC that 3rd Rail offers for their ERR kits.
Be aware that many “upgradable” engines need more than a TMCC radio board. You may need a Railsounds board to get sounds in command mode. Try your R4LC and see what works if anything. If it doesn’t work in Command mode it doesn’t mean the radio board is bad or not compatible. You may need a DCDR too.

I will give it a try and see what happens.
I've never encountered an "Upgradeable" locomotive that the DCDR wasn't compatible, there is no conventional/command issues with the DCDR. However, frequently for sound you do indeed have to obtain the RS4 components Pete suggesets.
