Tires & Tubes From Hose & Orings

Stacks of worn-out tires, piles of bad tubes and stacks of dead batteries were commonly seen clutter alongside or in the back of gas stations in the last century. These clutter items were also seen in auto scraps yards.  You might consider putting a rain barrel alongside of your gas station, and having a mechanic pushing a tube into the water to find a leak.

Make the tire stacks sloppy. Tubes were too light to stack, so scatter them in a sloppy pile. Also commonly seen by the worn-out tires were stacks of dead batteries. You can get crazy by painting some light red squares on the tubes to simulate patches.

Another idea is to stack tires into a freight car so they can be seen with a door open. Chuck a tire or two into the scrap load in your gondola. I remember seeing tires half-buried in the ground to make flower bed, garden and walkway borders. I am getting unbridled enthusiasm, so its time to hit the post button.
