What exactly is the Lionel Electro Coupler and how does it differ (pros & cons welcome) to the post war electro-magnetic (coil) and magnetic (tab/disc) types?
Will contemporary Electro Couplers operate on post war systems (e.g., UCS/6019 track sections)?

Command controlled locomotives usually have electrocouplers, however they are not the same as the PW magnetic coil couplers. There is no provision on modern command controlled engines to activate the couplers using the operating track sections or decoupling magnets.
The big pro of the electrocoupler is being able to remotely uncouple the locomotive coupler anywhere on the layout. It's very handy!

True, but she was looking for the contrast between the "electrocoupler" and the post-war coil coupler with the coupling shoe on the truck.
Whoops @gunrunnerjohn I guess I read it as the differences between the two and pros and cons of electrocouplers.
FYI, she is a he (LOL)! And any pros/cons were welcome. If the contemporary ElectroCoupler doesn't operate on any of the PW remote control tracks, what additional systems / equipment would I need to utilize that feature?

Lionel’s modern electrocouplers were designed to operate with the TMCC, later Legacy, system. You would need either the TMCC or Legacy base or, someday, the Base 3. More modern Lionel locomotives with Bluetooth need only your phone or tablet to operate the couplers and other functions. Similarly, modern MTH locomotives need DCS to work but MTH has no Bluetooth.
Your PW magnetic uncoupling track will work on virtually all modern rolling stock.
