One of my PS2 engines derailed, reset the TIU, put the engine back on the track and it goes flying. Tried shutting it down with remote, reseting TIU with remote, removing engine, etc, no dice, still on, anyone ever had this happen? thanks!

tried it on another track, same result, and its like full speed, cant get it even to stay on the track
Turn off everything power wise. Set the engine on the track and power up the layout, Don't do anything else. What happened? engine sat there with no sound and lights?(hopefully) or it took off at full speed?
If you can get it added to the remote without it taking off, try a feature reset..Menu/Advanced/ reset engine/ Feature reset,,,, Still be prepared for a take off.

Nicholas, did you ever figure out the problem? I'm having the same problem as well and am kind of at a loss.

Well, now I've done it. I thought I found the issue, and when I plugged everything back in to test, the magic smoke was released. (sigh)
And of course, the place where I bought the upgrade kit no longer has any in stock, so it's not like that's an option.
Is it just my imagination, or is this stuff way too fragile? I've put in lots of DCC decoders on HO locomotives and never had any trouble. Even ones that seemed dead could always be reprogrammed. Between my trouble with the TIU (fried TVS) and now this, I'm into this for almost $700 and nothing moving to show for it.
