Engine works on on e track but not the other

I have a GP30 Nickel Plate Road which works on one track, but not the other. I have three [owered tracks coming from two ports in the TIU unit. Number 1 track is powered and indep[endent of track 2 and 3. Tracks2 and 3 are powered by one connector from the TIU and c onnected with an interchange track that is separated by three insulated track connectors. Tracks 2 and 3 are connected together and powered by wires connecting them from one TIU terminal. The GP 30 on these tracks indicate no connection at all, but on the isolated track 1, it works fine..   I have tried deleting, resetiing the unit several times and woujld like to know if anyone out there might have a possible soloution to this issue.  Thank you

Well, is the engine a PS2? If yes, PS2 is specifically DCS signal polarity sensitive, where PS3 engines do not care and work either polarity. By polarity- I mean red post of the TIU must go to center rail, and black post must go to outside rail. Again, PS2 engines will not communicate DCS signal when polarity is reversed (engine not on track, not found).

Since this is a scenario where it works on one track, but not another- the wiring of the track between the TIU and the track is suspect.

Edit- also, most basic of basic tests, using a lighted car or caboose- you know the track segment the engine is on has power from the TIU- but you appear to have a DCS signal problem.
