I have two Lionel Engines. They are the F-19 and the H-7 with legacy. If I run them at slow speed and they get to a certain curve and a certain straight section of track in order to get then moving I need to increase the speed and they start moving. This happens consistently at low speed and at higher speed they sometime appear to hesitate briefly. The question is are the problem with the engines, power to the track at that point or Legacy wiring. I run two other MTH PS2 engines through the same sections of track and I have no problem.

Check the Odyssey switch on the two Legacy locomotives, is cruise turned off? Are you running in command mode or conventional? I can't imagine how this could happen in command mode, conventional it might be an issue, depending on the reduction of the track voltage.
The one issue where it might happen in command is if for some reason you have poor TMCC signal in that location. If a TMCC locomotive loses the TMCC signal it stops. If a DCS locomotive loses it's signal, it keeps doing what it was doing.
We have the same issue, with Legacy it is in the peninsula loop, at 2 spots opposite each other, the engine stops, if you roll just a little more power on, usually they go, but at other times they just shut down.
The irony is, MTH engines will also stop at a different spot, but in the peninsula, and give an out of range indication. I am hoping that when we upgrade the clubs layout to MTH wifi, this issue goes away.
Ron, MTH WiFi will do nothing for your track signal problems.
Clean the track. Does that solve it? Add a ground plane does that solve it? G
