Erie-Lackawanna passenger cars Lionel 2127460 and 470

Does anyone else have this problem with these cars derailing on curves due to the Kinematic Couplers. It appears to be due to interference from the striker plate on the diaphragm. This problem is not confined to one car, but anywhere in the consist. Before I remove the striker plates, has anyone else experienced this situation or have a different solution. I am not a fan of these couplers.
