Just purchased a Williams Pennsylvania RR "Broadway Limited" 60' (15") passenger car set and the two extra add on cars. The consist looks as follows. Baggage, Combine, Diner, Coach, Observation Dome car, and Observation Lounge. That consist with only a single coach car is odd and not at all prototypical. Trouble is that Williams does not offer an add on coach for separate sale. If you ask me this is not a good situation. How could they sell a set without a two coach option. Anyone know if there is an extra 60' aluminum coach that might match???? Next week I will write a letter of complaint to Williams and see what they have to say.

I wish the dome would be in the add on set, and have 2 "coaches" in the base set. Many roads like the PRR, did not have 1/4 domes.
But then again, these are based on the old Lionel O-31 cars. So guess one has to make do.

We're talking about Williams passenger trains and you're going to complain they don't come in prototypical consists?

The same thing is true with my PWC Lionel Texas Special. Passenger car set came with a vista dome car which the real passenger train did not have. The train also seemed short in the number of cars in the consist. Well I like running with the vista dome car at times because visitors like to see them run with train room light low and the dome car looks cool. I also waited until additional TS cars came up on the bay and I now have an additional 5 cars. I am happy all the way around.

Bingo! I often pick up WbB sets for under $100......once a 6 car set that was 'broken' for $50. (was just dis-assembled)
Want 100% correct consist??? GGD does a WONDERFUL job!!! But it ain't gonna be $100!
I was wondering when the someone from the "scale" crowd would start complaining about things that never were or were intended to be an accurate presentation of an actual train. I have no problems with scale models or the folks who model it but come on it's Williams for crying out loud. I like Williams stuff, it's cheap and readily available and it looks great it doesn't need to be scale or be loaded with electronics, that's all part of its allure.

If you really want to be prototypical, paint the 1/4 dome in Northern Pacific Colors. Then you can model the South Wind in the 1960's, when it used NP dome sleepers in its winter consist. NP traffic was down in winter, and South Wind's was up. Pullman made good use of its cars!
