The swelling is interesting, and frustrating I imagine. The B unit I did ten years ago hasent had eny dificulties, I used regulare glue for plastic models like testors. Interesting reaction? cTr...( Choose the Right )
The caboose swelling was 45 years ago and plastic cement has changed since then. I typically use plasticweld these days. I did have a c liner shell basically melt when i stripped it on brake fluid.
Tom did you dump the caboose or the B unit? Or both?

I don't have the caboose anymore. I do still have the B unit and just looked at it earlier this week. It was a really nice job and one side is fine, the swelling is limited to just one side.
I'm just about finished putting a Weaver chain drive in a C liner. It was a lot of work since the FM side frames mount much differently from the weaver ones and the Rivarossi frame is significantly different that a Weaver. If I get a little more time it may move under its' own pick-ups this weekend.
“ bump” , 2 yrs later ...
always interested in O scale FM projects ... for my own use and for sharing with my Fairbanks zmorse Enthusiast FaceBook Page
I am working on an Erie-Built. When the sides come back from the foundry I will post.
Bob, your foundry seems to be slower than me. That's pretty hard to imagine!
Here are 2 AHM/RivaRossi Fairbanks Morse locos, an ATSF and a PRR, running in the garden:

Jay: Hope springs eternal. I will call him again in April. Don't want to rush him. He says the masters look ok.
Are those still operating using the original drives and motors ? I just picked up my second unit and haven’t run them , yet

The ones in my video are indeed operating using the original drives and motors. But they did not have had much use before.

The one I found is new , other than test run .. couplers , glass , etc not even installed ... the 2nd one looks lightly used and stored for a long while ... guess I’m going to need to lay a loop of O2R to run the girls ...
all of my other FM engines are 3R ... maybe convert my FM locos to 2R ?
maybe build a O2R out door layout like yours .. I miss my G trains from a few yrs back ...
i converted from G to PW 027 a few yrs back when we moved from a huge house and yard to a TownHouse ... now , we have a place in the country ... hhmmm ... a plan ...
O27 indoors and O2Rscale , outdoors ... possibly even a live steam O engine ...
going on a tangent from the C-Liner , what track do you use outdoors and how does it hold up ?
thanks for the inspirational video !

I use track made of parts from the British company Tenmille (http://www.tenmille.com/); their products are made for outdoor use and my track is already more then 25 years in the garden.
