Bought Amtrak LionChief Plus 2.0 Item No 2234020 last year for Christmas for grandson. Since he only runs it when he visits, it hasn't seen much use.
Today I put it on the track because he's coming in a week or so. Applied power and instead of engine startup it ran forward ?? Universal remote was not on. Took it off track. Checked switches underneath. All good. Tried again. Same thing. Pushed underside switches back and forth in case they weren't making good contact. Same thing.
Tried a different transformer on a different track. Same thing. Tried to activate horn and bell with transformer. Only got a hum. Unresponsive to direction button on transformer either so it's not functioning in conventional mode either. Don't have a Lionel command system to try, just the universal remote (or app) and the Bluetooth and a couple of transformers.
Other LC + 2.0 engines working fine.
Any ideas? I assume warranty has passed as well? Bought it a year ago Sept 21, 2023
