I'm not familiar with the output of the "plug & play". Do the accessory cords step down track voltage at all?

15- 18v from any command systems constant track power might not be "IDEAL" for some accessories, but should work.   A stepped down voltage might be needed for ideal operations of certain PW stuff; others will love all the juice you can feed them, lol.

Some accessories just work better with the voltage "dialed in".  E.g., At a full 18v some of those buildings with vibration motors will jump around like Mexican jumping beans, but old crossing gates will love it.... etc.

I'd think you might want to go to 18v bulbs in some cases too (heat, too bright?, better longevity).

Can any post war accessory that gets power from track, be connected to a Plug n Play track section and operate as it should?

Check out the track and power catalog - page 22 - there is a controller and a plug to wire adapter that are used, dependent on the accessory. See attached excerpt.

Visit Lionel Customer Support, put in the P n P part numbers and check out the instruction sheets.

Nick,

You can use the Block track to create an isolated rail to trigger a layout action. There are jumpers for all three rails and all three rails have a factory cut. Removing a jumper wire breaks the continuity of that rail.

The connector bar for the outside rails under the FasTrack between the two 6-12060 would need to be removed. The tabs can be bent straight with a flat blade screwdriver to remove the bars. Then, just flatten the tabs again to tighten the rail.

That would permit either outside rail of the track in between to be used as the trigger rail.
