I just finished this caboose and this one is mine. I have pictures of this caboose while in use including the sleeping conductor. The end platforms have see through material as did the prototype. The lamp over the desk is a pushpin đź“Ś with a LED inserted in it. The entire caboose is scratch built. The operating markers are from Tomar. It has been a fun but challenging build.

Malcolm,
Very nice and highly detailed caboose. Can you share the technique for your flooring?
Dave

Dave,
It is Northeastern scribed wood siding. I scribed each length of random boards and added nail holes with a needle.I then painted each individual board with server all different neutral/earth tones. After it was dry I applied a alcohol/India ink wash.
Thank you, Malcolm
Now that is shortline caboose! It looks like it was cobbled from an old boxcar, and taken from the pages of "Mixed Train Daily".
Beautiful work Malcolm!

Outstanding, Malcolm. Love all the details!
Wonderful work! Definitely a unique and interesting caboose. I can understanding why you are keeping it.
Thank you gentlemen. If anyone has any ideas for the lamp I’m listening. The pushpin is a little to big but I could not come up with anything else.
Thanks for the information Malcolm!
Great work.

Once again, an outstanding example of your skill, talent, and....patience. Bravo, Malcolm! Bravo!
Malcolm, your craftsmanship and attention to detail are superb! I always look forward to see what you’re going to conjure up next. Thanks for all the great content!

Thanks gentlemen! I’m working on Canadian National vans and CB&Q way cars today. I’m also building a HB& T bobber caboose too(it’s mine).
Malcolm, I really enjoy seeing your outstanding work in cabooses (and everything else, but I’m a caboose fanatic). I’ll be looking forward to seeing your HB&T bobber caboose (I’m assuming this is for the Houston Belt & Terminal), as I’m a longtime Houston resident and remember going with my late father on his railfanning trips around Houston back in the 70’s, when you could could still have access to the SP and other facilities around town.

Kyle,
It is Huntington & Broad Top, I just started a new thread about it.
Thank you , Malcolm
Ahh, different HBT then. No matter, I’m still looking forward to seeing the end result. It’s looking great so far; definitely an unusual prototype!

Brother Love's secret is out, a replicator from the United Federation of Planets Starship Enterprise was found hidden under a blanket in his workshop. He was just miniaturizing real cabooses from pictures and drawings!!!
VGN64: I really like your explanation of Brother Love's abilities! LOL
