Quick question. How are you guys filling your MTH SD70 smoke units? I just took possession of the MTH Premiere Union of the Pacific SD70ACe and I can't figure out how to fill the smoke unit without either missing the opening entirely or dribbling smoke fluid all over the body. There is a grated vent that sits right over the smoke unit and the standard eye dropper isn't doing the trick. MTH doesn't have a downloadable manual yet and the quick start guide that came with it just mentions that I need to prime the unit before running it.

I use a needle-nosed bottle from lubricating oil.
You are going to hate me. I have been using these for years. I think the manufacturers should supply one with each diesel.

Chris, Lionel does supply them with a lot of their locomotives. I have a bunch of them in a jar here.

Yeah, I just received a new LC+ and I was surprised to see one in the box. Chris, go to Amazon and type in "pipettes". You can get 100 of them for $6.
Lionel supplies the 3ml ones. They are used extensively to feed birds and other animals. I bought some 1ml ones which suit me better. I generally fill with about 0.5ml at a time. I don't know how many drops that is. Is that big drops or little drops, Lionel?
I also bought some syringes from Farm and Fleet in the farm animal isle which are 3ml and very easy to control. I put a snug section of Teflon tubing over the end of the metal needle after I blunted it so as not to scratch if I touched the resistor.
Slightly OT, what is the difference with the old Lionel smoke fluid, the smoke fluid in the tiny containers that came with smoking cabooses, and the newer Lionel Premium smoke fluid?
Also, I noticed that the new Lionel Premium smoke fluid has a 1ml dropper in it. Nice!
That looks like the ticket. Thanks!
