My new lionel heavyweights arrived today fresh from weathering and customizing by Harry Heike.

They look great. With the smoke running and the train sounds and the weathered cars, I'm transported back to another time.

My MKT setup is at least a year away, but have one train ready to go.

Chuck,

Yes, before the streamlined cars MKT / Frisco painted the old green Pullman Heavyweights red and silver. The route was so popular though that the consists ended up being mixed with both cars and even some heavyweights could be seen mixed with the streamlined cars. Harry is working on a custom set of green heavyweights being done in the Pullman green for me.

So I will pull those with the Pacific he weathered for me last year.

My coming MKT layout will have 1930s-mid 50s covered well.
