OK...I have had many of you that have emailed me and also encouraged me on the forum to post a "real" video.  Months ago I did a couple of videos that were really fancy slide shows...  Then I did a couple of videos that showed a few trains running at specific locations on the layout.  SO...today armed with a new video camera I decided to try to take you on a trip around the central portion of the layout.  I did a twice around so that you could get the affect of the surroundings.  Once you have watched the video you will see why the layout really isn't ready a professional DVD in the OGR layout series.  Lots of work still yet to do as I am slowly getting the track blast down, etc.  A full screen 1080p version is available if you click on the Youtube link in the lower right of the video.  Make sure you view it in 1080p..!  It is about 9 minutes or so long, twice around with the second lap having some sound effects from the locomotives.  Hope you enjoy and as always, thanks for taking the time to look and comment....

Alan,  I vote this layout the best.  You did a fantastic job.  I love the bridges and of course the Acela.  I am so glad I have a standing invite to see it in person.  That is going to happen.  The video work was great.  Guys like yourself are a true inspiration for anyone who is building a layout.  This video should be considered a training film for anyone who wants to see what it is like when done right.

Thanks again guys!  I had a couple of emails asking what kind of camera I used.  It is an Ion Pro Wifi.  Very light, small, and easy to put on a flat car...or in a box car.

Nice video Alan,

A track plan would be interesting to see!

I just noticed the other day that BJ's has the Ion Pro 2 (with wifi pod) on sale for $99!  A great deal, and from the looks of the size, it is pretty easy to mount on a flatcar.  I did mine a while back with a GoPro, but the price and quality on the Ion may inspire other OGRers to turn to cinematography!  There's also a new $129 GoPro available - just in time for Christmas.

ps. Alan... think it would fit in an MTH modern tank car?  Looks like it might.

Wow. Finally got a chance to see it. Definitely worth the wait. The one point when it enters the section under the city kind of reminded me of the entrance to the IC/South Shore/METRA Randolph st under the Prudential Building( Chicago) with the PRR MU sitting on the siding. Will we see a video of the upper level EL?  Thanks for the ride.
