* * * UPDATE * * * *

Completed the lower level of storage tracks; started the upper level.

Note that the screw holes in the ties are neatly centered using my centering drill-guide.

I was thinking if this mess goes on any further, I may add three more levels just to store more engines and cars outside of the boxes for easy retrieval in a way that does not interfere with the static shelving.

So being home I finally had the time to get into adding storage tracks in where else but my storage room that is adjacent to my layout. I am adding 10 lines in two levels about 17.5 feet long each line.

I first broke into the storage room then into the mountain and below adding two four-way switches and two "curve on curve" switches. I use the storage shelving to support part of the tracks. At the corner where the  vertical storage post was in the way I remove it and hung the shelf in a cable-stayed arraignment.

Once i get the bottom level tracks screwed in I will add the upper level of track.

I made spacer pieces to aligned the straight track 3.5" on the center-lines apart This will let me store passenger cars out of the boxes and onto the layout in two levels.
