First, the FRA people do not do the "inspecting". The crew members of the steam locomotive in question must do all the work, and then submit the documents to the FRA.
I think 3751 is in a 5 year inspection,
Not yet.
and 4449 is still being examined
No, SP4449 is now "going back together" and will soon complete her full pressure hydro test. All he FRA "paperwork", i.e. recalculated Form 4, has been completed and she should be available for the annual "Holiday Express" train operations in Portland between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
as well as 261.
Milwaukee Road 261 was completed over a year ago and has already been returned to service.
Also is 3985 gonna get retired because they pulled 4014 out of Pomona?
UP3985 is now do the FRA mandated 15 year inspection.
Heard it is a rumor but I want to ask any experts.
So long as the current manager is in control at the UP Cheyenne steam shop, poor 3985 will never operate again. Also, no work has been performed on 4014 either. The current manager is still "taking 844 apart".
Doing research about 3985 to see if it.
Thanks
