Thank you!
Diesel Dan,
Thank you for posting all of these interesting and enjoyable photos.
These are truly great photos. not only to look at and enjoy, but also for research.

Thanks for posting. I already posted the link on another forum I belong to. It was refreshing to see the UP 2012 Big Boy before it came to Scranton to die!

Diesel Dan just posted the link. I'm the one who set the site up working with JJ Young, Jr.'s son, John J. Young, III. I have scanned over 4,000 of JJ's negatives and have about as many still to do. As I get the images cleaned up, they will be added to the flickr site.
Here is the link to the "press release" John sent out through the webpage of the Susquehanna Valley Railway Historical Society (a chapter of the NRHS) about the site:
http://www.trainweb.org/SVRHS/photosJJYJr.html
The news of JJ's photo's being available to the public even made Trains Newswire.
JJ Young, Jr. was prolific photographer and SHOULD be recognized as such by the R&LHS through it's lifetime achievement award as well as its photography award. It's LONG overdue.
I also maintain my own Flickr page with my own photographs:

As well as a site with the images from Doug Holbrook and Dave Deyo:

Sam,
what a job that must be, but your hard work has allowed JJ Youngs images to be shared with many who otherwise would know of or be able to see all those classic images.
I know as I have been slowly posting some of my images on RRpicruerarchives and it is a chore! You have done a great job and have taken the patience to clean up the images so they look so great.
Thank YOU, for your time and efforts!

We are hoping to be able to make an announcement in June regarding more of JJ Young, Jr's. negatives and slides (yes I said slides, while he is known for his black & white photography, he did shoot some color slides as well) so stay tuned. If things work out as we hope, it will be released through the SVHRS website first.
Dispr,
Thank you, also, for the great photos. you posted.
Ralph
Great pictures, keep them coming. Thanks.
