I have had my Cab2 back to Lionel twice in the last two months. The first time the velocity throttle wouldn't work and they replaced the main PCB. Second time same problem and they replaced the charging PCB. I put it in the charger this afternoon for a few hours and I've lost throttle control again. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm starting to think it has something to do with charging the batteries from the 990 base.

I have 2 legacy remotes.  Charge using base all the time.  Never an issue.  These remotes may get warm, but the term overheating is incorrect.  That would probably result in a fire or melting.

My remotes have been charging for the last 6 years with no issues.  That gets over exaggerated.  Just have to replace the rechargeable batteries every few years.

Sounds just like the throttle has a issue.

I would ask Lionel to just replace the remote since its been in twice.  Someone I know asked and they exchanged it for a brand new one.
