I had one of these converted to TMCC and it was a blast when visitors, typically kids, came to visit. I'd let them run the train and with a separate remote would trigger the car and then in a mock surprised, upset voice say "what did you do", "I told you not to touch anything", etc. Always got a laugh.

Those are great, I usually bring at least one of mine to our modular shows. I also have TMCC control, so I can run for a spell and then just surprise people that are watching with the action.

I'd like to learn how to add TMCC control to it. What did you have to do?

It's actually very simple. Using the ERR Mini-Commander ACC kit, you just power the entire care with the high current output. I also added a small light under the car so I could see when the power was on. I didn't bother to wire the LC1 light as they suggest since I used the jumper to configure it.
Here's the installation manual for the Hot Box Reefer using the MC-ACC kit.

ERR Mini Commander Install for Hot Box
John beat me by 4 seconds. LOL!
BTW I have this car too and having accessible by TMCC makes it bearable to operate.
You can't be first all the time Marty!

Ok now where do I find one! The ERR site doesn't have any I can see to order.
You can use the plain Mini-Commander ACC kit, there's nothing special about the Hot Box kit.

Oh Duh, you said that originally. I just ordered one. Thanks!
Interesting little thing. Like the smoke and lights, but not the screeching. Other than the screeching, interesting.
Turn off the sound and you'll get the smoke and lights.

Yeah, if I was in the video I could, haha. I am just saying, nice, but not for me John. I draw the line at chalkboards, get it?
