I was fooled by the original tracking number until I remembered that there are two packages in this delivery and if you go to the tab near the bottom of the UPS notice sent out with that number which says "packages in this shipment" you'll find amother tracking number which appears to be the one issued on pickup. It relates to both packages and mine shows they were shipped yesterday with an ETA of Monday next week.

Thanks, I did that.  Apparently mine hasn't been shipped yet.

Well, it sure looks like it's worth the wait. Among other things, in the photos posted above the paint finish is almost as glossy as the old color photos of the T of T show. If I knew what it was safe to polish this model with I would probably do so obsessively!

... And if I were ever to enter into the diesel market the TOT from Sunset models would definitely be my first acquisition.

I'm with you, the more I look at this the more I like it.  I'm just glad I haven't saw the UP Yellow one.

It's an incredible train!  I love everything about it.

Bill:

Thanks so much for your outstanding photos. It gives everyone who ordered this splendid set something to really look forward to (including me).

I checked my UPS Tracking Information this morning and mine has made it all of the way across the country and arrived in Massachusetts yesterday afternoon. Should not be too long before it makes it's way here.

According to TOT book and UP historical data after TOT toured the US UP bought it and placed it into pool service on the City Of Seattle. Now if you can find a consist list for the City Of Seattle,  PLEASE post it or link. I'm talking City Of Seattle Not City Of Portland, consist lists abound for Portland but not so much for Seattle. Also years56 thru 63 when the cars were all whitelined. Any info would be appreciated. Mine should ship from sunset today. Interested to find out just how many 2rail sets were produced. My daughter really likes this train so mine will probably never see the secondary market. It will get run here in the backyard and basement and eventually wind up on a shelf in her house unless she marries a train guy. Down the road  a piece

Did a very quick and dirty google search and found a little information and, better still, color photos of T of T cars in UP livery in this link:

This is one of the pictures from the link:

UP TOT

Strange to see the original T of T in UP yellow.

Some interesting information on UP use of the T of T cars, and better photos also in the link.  Probably not what aterry was looking for, but some interesting information nonetheless.
