That is one sweet set!!! Can't wait for the videos...
Great train Brian!
Thanks to your advise and photos, one will be arriving here in tomorrow -- thank you my friend.
nice!
Oh Gosh, Thursday can't get here soon enough!
The dome car with the figures is very well done.
Fellas,
Just opened mine up. All I can say is that this is my first 3rd Rail purchase, but it will not be the last!
This train is exquisite. It is the ultimate piece in my collection. What I'd like to mention is the care that was taken to ensure that each piece of the train arrived unblemished and undamaged. Styro inserts were applied between the main box(es) and the shipper, and each piece was carefully packaged and secured. I was wondering how the antennae on the observation car were going to be protected, and they were safe and secure in an extra-dense packing material.
Again, what an extraordinary train!
What an interesting set depicting a fantastic promotional idea!
Beautiful..
Beautiful pictures, Brian. Enjoy that set! Love the tree backdrop that you and Elizabeth made.
Brian,
Looks great, enjoy it.

Brian,
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! Enjoy the set.
We are so happy customers are enjoying these sets.
We have just a few remaining GM Sets in 2R or 3R.
http://www.3rdrail.com/instock.html#GMTOT
We only made 20 GM Sets in 2R, and 40 GM Sets in 3R. You will not see these on the secondary market for less. Come and get yours before they are, "A PIECE OF HISTORY".
Beautiful. Use it in good health. I would be running it rather than posting it here!
My set should be here tomorrow. While not being a diesel fan this looked to good to pass up.
I only have one other diesel/passenger set. It's the Union Pacific M1000 in brass done by Sunset 3rd Rail a few years ago. This was a four car set with the observation car also being powered. The diaphragms between each car were made of cloth and were wire sprung. A beautiful set!
from the "can't take it with you" school of logic
Brian, This is a Beautiful set, In a Beautiful Setting, In a beautiful Couples Home. Thanks for the Pictures. Also,is it TMCC Controlled? Happy Railroading.
"Also,is it TMCC Controlled? Happy Railroading."
Yes.

If you have the opportunity to purchase this set, I would highly recommend that you jump on it before they are gone. This is absolutely one of the best passenger sets ever made.
Congrats on your purchase Brian, it's definitely a looker.
As for me, I'll wait until the ToT is offered in fantasy Daylight colors.
"Love the tree backdrop that you and Elizabeth made."
Not me, all her work. Fortunately, it is very re-usable. She started yesterday to move it to another wall that will be the backdrop for our new North Pole layout.
Awesome! I have never purchased a 3rd Rail set before, but I ordered the El Capitan passenger cars. I hope it is as nice as this one. Congrats!
Scott
Brian,
Seriously beautiful train set, I thought it came with 4 Cars, where is the baggage car, did they make it an add on to expand the set?
Never mind, I see it now, did not see the full rolling stock picture at 1st!
PCRR/Dave
yeah, it is OK...but what about that Daylight?????
"did they make it an add on to expand the set"
No, as far as I know, there are no plans for the baggage car. It usually went ahead of this train for the next stop.
And Forrest, when it gets above zero, I am there.
Brianwill you be bringing ToT to Trainstock for a spin around the NJ Hi-Railers layout?
"Brian will you be bringing ToT to Trainstock for a spin around the NJ Hi-Railers layout?"
Greta idea, Steve if no one in the club has one ordered.
It's as beautiful as it was on display at York. I love those colors. Have fun and lots of luck with it!
Beautiful train I know you will enjoy it after the wait!
Will have to make it to Trainstock early this year so I can see it in person and running.
UPS says mine has been on the truck for delivery today since 5:10AM. O goodie!

I like Greta's idea too, maybe I'll have to figure out a way to make it there.

Being as cold as it is, I'm letting it acclimate before opening, can hardly wait.
Received my set about 3 hours ago and just now examining the engine.
have a few questions:
Talks about adding 5 drops of smoke fluid but 5 drops to each of the "8" smoke fluid holes (think that is correct)?
I ordered the 3 rail version and on the cover of the instructions the pilot is fitted with a coupler, I assume for double heading. My pilot is fixed and does not have any coupler associated with the pilot. Also there is not a dummy scale coupler in the box if this was supposed to be present.
Lastly there are two blue plastic parts in the bag with the cup which is used to add fluid. Are these add of detail parts; where do they go?
The instructions on the last page talk about ' "remove pilot with two screws/ remove 3R coupler 2 screws and then unplug wires" at which appears to be on the front of the engine. Also in the little bag are two VERY tiny springs and 6 screws, 3 pairs of 3 different size screws along with 2 traction tires?????????
Beautiful engine as mentioned in other posts!!!!
thank you; glad that I ordered and should be a collector/runner classic!
