Maybe tinplate track, too - some wider radius curves.  Cars with different numbers in 4/6/8 packs.

I would go for that. Their O gauge stuff is pretty nice.

I would like that.

If.... They did prototype paint schemes, not that annoying fantasy garbage so much of their O Gauge line is inflicted with.

When Weaver bought the molds from Crown Model Products, Weaver continued making the O gauge line, but did nothing with the S gauge line. Those molds must still be in existence somewhere. If they could be found and cleaned up, they would be a nice line of S gauge cars.

Remember, everyone, that S gaugers have nothing like selective compression, or O-27 style cars, so putting S trucks on O-27 cars will not fly. All S gauge cars must have full scale proportions to be accepted.

The Crown Model Products cars were properly proportioned.

Crown offered one car in S: A wood side, steel end reefer in various roads and private owners.  As I recall hi-rail only with SHS trucks and couplers.

It's not like we have a lot of choices for that type of car. What is it, like 4 manufacturers?

I sure wish Menards would offer a few prototypical cars!  I realize costs are going up but the price gap on S Scale vs O Scale rolling stock is getting closer!

For wood side/wood end ice reefers, you have your choice: MTH(SHS) and now Lionel. 

Des Plaines/SSA offers an all steel ice reefer.

AM's "reefer" really isn't a reefer, it's an insulated plug-door boxcar without any refrigeration or other climate control equipment.

Be thankful that a company like this makes ANYTHING, especially as cheaply as they do.

I’m not into 3-rail and little use for anything they’ve made so far, but I think it’s great they make stuff for the segment they do.

I live 865 miles from the nearest one, so it’s all moot to me, though…

Yeah, I GET THAT. You can't expect them to make everything in every scale. I'm amazed they even make anything, regardless whether you can use it or not...

I personally don't expect them to make anything in S. 

However, those that S Gaugers would like them to make something in S have nothing so far to be thankful for, but have every right to ask...

Crown made several nice reefers -- click here to learn more and see photos -- I actually like (and have) their Moxie car better than S-Helper's (that doesn't happen often).  

I think Menards would do well with S Scale products.  Start with boxcars, flat cars, tankers, and tin plate track in a wider radius. They might be surprised with the success!

Since l want a lot more in O, generally, than what is available and hope for a loco from Menards (O), but would be surprised if a diesel appeared and floored if steam. I think you've got a better shot at the Powerball than seeing S items come from what is a fringe line among thousands at this successful retailer.

It might bode well for S gauge, if a large retailer such a as  Menards or a large model train company such as Bachmann produced S gauge trains.

Good luck with Bachmann. It would be hog heaven if they produced their On30 line in O three rail (and in 0n3).

I have just recently found Menards Train Stuff.......I bought the Morton salt factory and the sour kraut factory and was very impressed with both of them......plan on buying a couple more buildings........I would like to see some S gauge cars also....maybe a morton salt hopper like the O gauge model.....prices are certainly very reasonable,,,,,,,,oh my free little red fire truck lights works for about 30 seconds and then quits.........ah it was to large anyway..............
