RR Museum of PA is certainly one of the top RR museums in the country, soon to be even better.  Here are the 6 locomotives that will be displayed in the roundhouse according to the linked article:

  • M1b No. 6755 – A 4-8-2 “Mountain” type steam locomotive built in 1930
  • K4s No. 3750 - A 4-6-2 “Pacific” type steam locomotive built in 1920
  • L1s No. 520 – A 2-8-2 “Mikado” type steam locomotive built in 1916
  • E6s No. 460 – A 4-4-2 “Atlantic” type steam locomotive built in 1914
  • H10s No. 7688 – A 2-8-0 “Consolidation” type steam locomotive built in 1915
  • B6sb No. 1670 – A 0-6-0 switching steam locomotive built in 1916

5 of the 6 are outside, while #460 is inside the main museum.  I was hoping that PRR #4800 "Old Rivets" would be brought inside.  Maybe Old Rivets could take #460's spot in the museum building (will need another 7' though) . . .

Based on the last update from Mike's Metal Fab on Youtube 1670 is nearing completion. The tender is done and painted. The Cab is nearing completion of metal work.

In a previous video he was showing and discussing the tender for 520 and how they were removing rust and dirt from the tank as well as looking to fabricate new supports so I would assume once 1670 is complete work would move towards getting 520 done in the next two years.

The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania  • The Yard • November 15, 2024

The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania is planning on adding a new structure. The Roundhouse. The main purpose of the roundhouse building is to protect and exhibit some of their locomotives and rolling stock that now reside outdoors.

The first two photos show a steam locomotive and boxcar that they are painting.

The last photo shows their “Adopt A Train” To learn more: https://www.rrmuseumpa.org/?s=adopt+a+train

It will be interesting to find out how many of these are moved into the new roundhouse.

Hope to see you out rail-fanning: Gary 🚂💨 Toote - Toote!
