Good morning everyone,

I went yesterday, with my wonderful wife, to see Eliot's layout.  We spent the day with Eliot and his wife Ginny.  They made a great BBQ with lots of dessert's and the food was delicious.  Just as we sat down to start eating, the doorbell started to ring

and as I looked up, some other forum members came in.  First was Jim Policastro and Skip (NYC FAN).  Soon after, many more people came over and we made our way into the basement where Eliot's empire is.  As I got to the bottom of the stairs and looked to my left, there it was, a beautiful layout room with a beautiful layout. The scenery was awesome and you were able to view it from anywhere in the room.  Well, with no time wasted, Eliot started to fire up some beautiful engine's and away we went.  After a little while, Eliot handed the legacy remotes to us and we were running the trains.  What a great time with great people.

So thanks to Eliot and Ginny for hosting a great day and it was my pleasure to meet them Jim and Skip and everyone else

yesterday.   Here are a few photo's of the layout that I took.  I took them with my phone so they're not so clear.

Thanks again,

Alex

This was my first visit to see Eliot and Ginny and the great layout. Eliot's photos are excellent, but no photos can convey how impressive the big layout really is.

Eliot is a master of creating small scenes and blending them together into a totally believable little world.

....and his little people are treated to some great railfanning experiences with the sights and sounds of long trains pulled by huge steam engines and colorful diesels passing by all day long. I could live very happily in a place like that!

Great too meeting Alex and the others who I already knew well from the forum, but it's always nicer to meet in person. Great too to see Skip, Chris and the rest of the gang again who grew up in the New York City area in the old neighborhoods similar to mine. We always have lots of memories to share...and sharing them over some real kosher hot dogs and New York style cookies makes them better.

Thank you again, Eliot and Ginny, for a great day of trains, food, and friendships.

Jim

Great layout, great pictures but Alex I thought you were going to "borrow" that big Milwaukee Steam Engine for me when no one was watching. I promised I would send it back............someday. Don

Ginny and I will gladly loan you the MR in exchange for um . . . .  in exchange for, now let me see what was it, oh yes . . . . some beach time on Maui.

Yessssireee Don !
