MTH is doing a O scale premier car of the Great Lakes Brewing Co. I plan to get one for my beer train as well as my Christmas train. How many would be interested in a tinplate version? O scale, standard gauge both? I would fall under the “both” category! What’s say you?

Would do a tinplate and probably a standard gauge one if they made it.
I’d be in for a 500 series.

I was thinking a 500 series as well.
I'd absolutely buy a 2800 series and probably a 200, but the last tinplate beer reefer I ordered was cancelled and I had to make my own.

the gondola picture on the bottle and six holder looks great, but a picture of a gondola on the side of a reefer? ...doesn't really seem to make sense. how about Santa tossing back a cold one with the Mrs. on Christmas morning or New Year's Eve?

I tend to agree. The picture of a gondola on a boxcar just seems a little off.
Is this car still to be produced? I cannot find it on the MTH website, at least not using the product number from the original post - 20-94294.
I got to drink a bottle at Christmas. Neighbors brought them home from Michigan. I kept the bottle and put it on my shelf in my train room.
I didn’t really like the boxcar mockup. I’ll just find some shiny red ornaments and put them in my green tinplate gondola.

Thanks. I was hoping not.
It doesn't do anything for me. What I wish someone would do would be an O gauge tinplate lithographed version of almost any of the billboard reefers that Atlas has made in O gauge.

Those Atlas reefers are valuable even in plastic!

GREAT IDEA!
I would buy a tinplate reefer for any beer made in Wisconsin and particularly Milwaukee!

I agree George - I have more of them than is probably good for me...but that's a risk I'm willing to live with.
I could be mistaken here....but I think OLD versions of the Gondola pictured on the six pack carton had "Lionel" on the top, left side of the car.
But, the lawyers got involved and that went......away.
It's a great tasting beer and if you're ever in CLE, stopping at their restaurant/brew pub on West 25th is a great idea.....although they're currently closed for some short term rennovations.
This car would look great in tinplate!

The colors would really pop, and the graphics are cool.

Here’s a pic I found and it was just as @Berkshire President had stated, a 512.

GLBC's Christmas Ale garners a lot of press, but my 2-cents is that their Eliot Ness Amber Ale and Conway's Irish Ale are both better, but given the common seasonality, I'd pick up a Christmas Ale reefer if made.
