I am thinking of heading down to Maryland for the Great Scale Model and train show this weekend. This will be my first scale show. I heard it was a very good show. Anyone else going or have gone before and what can i expect to see there that is usually not at regular Greenburgh type show.  If this was already posted oh well cant find my way around just yet.  Thanks

You didn't mention if you were into 3-rail or 2-rail. But being about an hour away, I've attended this show just about every time in the last 3 or 4 years. I go with my HO buddies and plan to go this saturday. The show is largely HO and N scale. But there is a fair amount of O Gauge, so if you're looking for structures (like MTH or Lionel), you will find some. Regarding engines or rolling stock, it will be 99.9% 3-rail (mostly MTH and Lionel). Occasionally a vendor will show up with some Atlas or Pecos River (again mostly 3-rail). But some 2-rail does appear from time to time, often at bargain prices because the "vendor" doesn't know what it's worth and just has an odd piece or two (he's selling mostly HO stuff). So I always manage to find at least one gem and come away happy. Also, S scale is represented. The past few shows had a few vendors with new S scale offerings.

Again keep in mind that the show is mostly HO and N. But this is a very large and nice show. And you'll find a lot of general model items like scenery supplies, modeling supplies, tools, books, etc. And the show always has a number of operating layouts in various scales from N to G, which are great to look at to get modeling ideas.

There is a food vendor on site, but there are also very close places to eat like Subway and McDonalds.

I've been to a number of "Greenberg" shows and this show has much nicer stuff. There are usually national vendors and of couse lots of locals selling off the "don't want's".

Patrick- its a great show and when browsing before you go make up a list of those detail items for O Gauge scenes and buildings you wish to have and will find at a scale show like this one because its a great venue for them as well as new scale kits. Happy Railroading!!!!!-Don Klose

Isnt that what Martin MWB   does?

I was there on Sat selling off portions of 2 estates of HO and other "stuff".  We managed to move about a pick-up truck load of items in under 2 hours time.  So much for a tight economy....

Maybe I need a tent and some clowns,

LOL,

The same thing happened last year at this time at the Pittsburgh Show. All the cabin fever  leads up to huge attendance i guess.Everyone was overwhelmed at the attendance.Good news for all.

Anyway sorry thought i read before you have  givin a seminar or two.

The one seminar i did see was sticken the blue furnace filter over the stick to make trees. No clowns, ok maybe one.

I ended up pickin up a bunch of tichy windows and doors and some "signs of the times" decals.A few 1:48 1930s cars and some scale wood. Nobody had the O scale stringers for steps , was very suprised at that.

Met up with a few freinds from  other clubs and met a few new ones. I think i seen your table wmb,if it was the one that had the sign "estate sale", musta missed you, and your right it got picked real quick.
