Now I understand the problem, having just done an R-K Mohawk. Luckily, I had a 5-volt board in another loco (Doodlebug) that work, so I swapped that in. What I would consider if I had to get a 3-volt in the Mohawk, would be a 2-piece heat sink, using part o the old sink for the lower portion, and screwing to it the uppoer portion of the new style heat sink, with appropriate bends due to the differing locations of the rectifier.

All mounted and back together and being tested by dragging my track cleaning car around. It'll have a few days to clean it, I deliver it at York.
