Just recently upgraded to a gw180 power supply and my Lionchiefs run just fine with it on my layout but noticed when I put a conventional engine on with it and then turn on the supply the unit automatically takes off. Fairly new to the hobby so I was trying to research this topic and didn't find anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and stay Legendary.

Do you have the throttle lever in the "off" position, i.e. all the way down, when you power it up?

Is your track hooked to the variable output and not the accessory output?
The throttle lever was in the off position when I turned on the brick, and i have the track terminals hooked up on the transformer.
Do you have a voltmeter to check the voltage at the accessory terminals?
I wonder if the track and accessory terminals could be reversed from the factory.
I suppose. If you don't have a meter you could attach the acessory terminals to the track and see what happens. Be ready to cut the power.
