Got the printed version of Lionel '15 V2 yesterday. I usually end up with several of them from train dealers and I believe one comes via my LCCA membership. Always nice to have one in your hands, and while there's the excitement of "release day" online you can really eyeball the goods on paper. I think I frequently notice things I missed online and sometimes even end up revising buying decisions (pro and con) after viewing the hard copy.

One thing I dd notice was the boxcar contest winner. Wow, no disrespect to the winner but I would have chosen the runner up.

Anyway, nothing beats the feel of the real thing.

I agree, I like a paper copy too. Not to be snarky, but I just collect them to have them because there's no way I can afford any of that new stuff & I don't like all the wiz bang electronic stuff anyway. My son & I like to page through it & laugh at the crazy list prices. Neat record of what they offer, but that's about it for me. Good for future reference material I guess...

Agreed 1,000%.  The more I look at the three box cars in the catalog, it's clear the "runner up" should have been the winner by a landslide.  In deference to the winning design, it's quite possible that the catalog photo simply doesn't do it any justice... and seeing a prototype boxcar with the winning design in person tips the scale.

Nonetheless, my vote would have gone to the runner-up design.
