In the early 1980s the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad charted some excursion passenger trains pulled by their BL2 engine. The trains consisted of three coaches hired from the Conway Scenic Railroad and a red caboose at the end. Interestingly enough, in 1980 the coaches were painted in one scheme (maroon with red window areas and yellow horizontal stripes) and in 1981 the coaches were painted a different scheme (a very dark maroon or perhaps chocolate brown). I would love to model this excursion train and am looking for suitable coaches.

Have any of the manufacturers ever made CSR painted coaches before? I would prefer not to have to custom paint them.

A picture of the train can be seen here: https://www.cardcow.com/614898...-trains-locomotives/

Thanks.

The closest cars you will find are likely the All-Nation wood and metal kits from the 50's and 60's.  The 64' coach kit was made in large numbers and I have about a dozen that I am building for my CNJ fleet.  The nice thing about the kits is that they are not too difficult to build out of shaping the roof and mounting trucks to the wood underbody is straight forward for either two or three rail trucks.
