I am having problems with my GG-1 going through lionel 0-72 switch. It will go through 9-10 times and then the front pilots hang up. I have heard that you can file the points on the switch portion of the track to prevent the bouncing. Has anyone done this and how did you do it. My other engines go through without an issue it is just the GG-1

What vintage are the switches? Modern, Fastrack, original Lionel?
If original does it have a plastic (black) frog?
I solved this problem on a CC GG1 by swapping out the wheels on tne front/rear trucks with post war parts.Have you looked yours over good?

switches are Lionel Tube style switches and are about 4 years old. As I said it is just one switch and one engine Scale GG-1. Does have the plastic frog

Rob I checked the front wheels and they are fine. Happens if I turn the engine around and run it in same direction as well. It is an MTH Scale GG-1
