Does anyone know what the height limites are for proto flat cars? Thanks Chad

It depends on clearances on a particular route. The B&O could run dome cars. Also, the weight (load) limit of a flatcar comes into play.
Flatcars for big, heavy loads have depressed centers to make tall loads ride lower.
Variations on that theme are double stack cars, where lower containers ride in "wells."
Is there a standard on maximum height like on Semi tractor trailers being 13'6"?
Thanks

15'1" for unrestricted interchange according to this info.
Cool Thanks Ace! What would that be in O scale? I come up with aprox 3.75". My gunderson dbl stacks are 5" Im looking to put together some Cat or John deere construction flats eh.

My gunderson DBL stacks are exactly 5" from rail to top eh
Quite a bit of the O-gauge stuff is well over 15 scale feet high, obviously we don't get "unrestricted" access to the rails.
My command Wienermobile doesn't make it under our club bridges, it must have exceeded the height limits.

PLATE H
Limited interchange service adopted 1994. Revised 2007. This standard applies to double-stack container cars. (20 foot 3 inch over railhead)
PLATE K
Limited interchange service adopted 2005. Revised 2007. This standard applies to 20 foot 3 inch autorack cars.
Check Plate W for Weinermobile clearance (limited interchange).
Cool! Thanks Again So about 5" from rail to top of load is about max eh
I measured my "wiener" and it's 5 1/8" above the top of the rails. I guess I'm over my clearance height by three scale inches!

Watchout a tunnel doesn't take a bite off your weiner. Observe Plate W routing restrictions.

One already has taken a small bite out of the strobe, I guess I should have put it down near the middle, but it looked so cool on the tip of the wiener.
WoW!!!! Eh!!
