I have a Lionel F3 6-14356 produced in 2002 with TMCC.  This is a very lightly used unit which I purchased "like new" from a forum member.  I run Legacy Command.  I started out using the TMCC setting, but had to change to the CAB1 mode in Legacy because it would not get up to speed and changing momentum did nothing for it.  I changed to CAB1 and it work pretty well.  I have been running the engine for several weeks.  Several days ago it stopped responding to the controller and the railsounds engine revs would sound whenever I turned on the power to the track.  But, no bell, horn, couplers or forward or reverse.

My next step was to reset with the Legacy controller.  No effect.  I removed the Legacy system and plugged in my old TMCC system and reset the engine per directions, without problems.  I ran the engine for about 15 minutes with every thing functioning properly.  After 15 minutes it stopped and I had to reset the engine again which was followed with a similar result.

I run MTH Z4000 transformers on O27 profile tubular track, with buss wiring, soldered joints and power leads every 6 feet.  I have not taken the cover off or done any repairs other then resetting per the TMCC directions.

If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it.

Shiver me Timbers - Hopefully it worked.  GGG I really do not know the names of the different boards.  I tried Lionel to get a parts and spec sheet without success.  So I pulled all I could do without any damage.  I just eased them out and firmly returned them without bending anything.  Below are pictures.  With my awl pointing to each board I removed and reinstalled.

After replacing everything I returned her to the track and simply reset the ID# and she lit right up.  I have been running it, with Legacy, for the last hour which is 50 minutes more than I got last night and she stayed right on track without losing her mind.

Thank you so much!!!!
