Sometime in the last six months someone posted a link to videos of a European layout that had slot cars operating on a layout with O-gauge trains.  that's not terribly unusual, I know, but this some pieces of track and slot-car road such as train crossings, etc, that had been made to allow the to two systems to somewhat co-exist together.  I have searched and searched but can't find the thread.  Anyone know where it is?  I'd really like to see it again.

Thanks for any help.

Lee,

Think I found the thread you are referring to.  I remembered doing some searches at the time but it did not look like the system was still available.  Did find additional links with the same or what appears to be the same O gauge system.

It would be interesting to see if anyone finds that this system is still available.

The system mentioned is actually the Faller AMS system (based on the Aurora slot-cars)..it was introduced in 1963 and is HO..later even a N scale version was available but only with buses (they did not have the technic to make it fit into a small car)

The AMS system was discontinued in the mid 1980's and replaced later (1990's) by the Faller Car System who continue to be available today in HO and N..and getting better and better. Now in version 3.0 digital and with satellite vehicle localisation.

Yes, the stuff in the videos is HO, including some three-rail HO.  I never had the AMS system but did have about 200 feet and nine vehicles of the Faller car system on an N gauge layout I had a decade or so ago.  It is a really nifty system but was incredibly epensive most because of the short lifetime I got from teh $100+ cars before they would break, and it proved to be  the most cantankerous, difficult to get working perfectly system I  ever encountered.   Still, when it worked, it was fantastic.
