Could use some good advice. Here's my dilemma I just purchased new old stock Lionel JLC Allegheny. Just received today and unboxed and what I was afraid of come true I did find damage to the tender. The rear truck assembly was broken in several pieces so much where springs and other pieces came tumbling out once I lifted the tender out of the box. One of the wheels also came out since the casting assembly is completely broken. I Have a feeling Lionel doesn't stock any parts from this JLC version but perhaps the tooling is exactly the same for the legacy version and I'm still able to purchase that part. Any recommendations? I'm waiting to hear back from the seller who I believe is authorized Lionel dealer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated do I just try to get a refund after sending back if possible or since this is a rare item and that everything else seems operational do I see if I can still get the part and go through the hassle of disassembling the tender.

If you like the engine, and everything else is ok, then strike a cord with your seller, and fix the engine…..even if the stock original parts are not available, to be sure there’s a comparable truck suitable for replacement…..I wouldn’t send the whole thing back just on the count of a broken truck, especially if the seller will work with you,….if he/she gets tight lipped, then, yeah, make them eat it,…but if they’ll work with you, and you can twist a screwdriver, this isn’t a bad repair to do,…..even if the stock trucks ain’t available….like I said, to be sure there’s a suitable swap that can be done….

Lionel shows the rear 8 wheel truck in stock. The front 6 wheel truck is NLA but there are many more front Buckeye 6 wheel trucks listed. At least one should be pretty close. Just search on Buckeye.

It looks like they have the truck in stock:
Here's a link so you can order it yourself: https://www.lionelsupport.com/...6-6-6-Allegheny-1650
Fwiw. Lionel also released a Legacy allegheny in the more recent past. I'd be inclined to think these parts would work as they are of the same tooling.

Thanks Rick and everyone else who chimed in here I am now able to sleep tonight lol. For some reason I couldn't seem to find that part online now when I went to the parts list if one can send a direct link to that part so I can purchase it I would greatly appreciate it In the meantime I'll keep trying but I will purchase ASAP and speak with the dealer tomorrow and see if he can knock some off the price Thanks again you guys rock
Another option would be to use the trucks from the MTH version. Definitely not a direct fit, but could probably be made to work:
4 axle truck - DA1140021
3 axle truck - DA1130023
Both are listed as available on https://mthpartsandsales.com/
