Thanks John,  I just got into doing scenery in 2013,  so I have been trying everything.  I wasn't sure how I would do or if I'd like it,  but I definitely enjoy it now.

Thanks laz57,  the layout is roughly 40 by 16,  with 2 main lines,  a branch line that goes up to the quarry and of course a few industrial sidings.  The unfinished area will be a refinery.

Thanks c.sam,  I went back an forth between fast track and scale track.  Of course there was more work with the scale track but it is definitely worth it in my opinion,  I love the realistic look.

I plan on purchasing your #315 O Scale Grain Silo and have it place where the current MTH Grain building and PS2 covered hoppers are.

In my dreams I have a layout as nice as that.

There's a unified feel to the whole layout, and you seem to have a good sense of how to use available space and how to attract the eye and move it around the landscape and tracks. It seems a pleasant, happy place to visit - a lot of joy there.

Hi NS 1719. Off to a great start! You have some nice ideas for texturing scenery, etc. Don't forget to include a few crossing signals, which always add to the visual, but if your town is small enough, even wooden crossbucks can convey a great look. Scale is wonderful, but so is hi-rail, where atmosphere and action are more important than getting every detail exactly right. Many of us are in O gauge to take some relief from everyday reality and make no apology for not trying to bring the outer world into the inner child sanctum...Be yourself and enjoy what you have - that's the purpose of hobbies...

Thanks everyone for commenting I appreciate it.  The layout is still has a ways to go.  Do I decided to hold off on signals and cross bucks till a little later on.  The two methods I used for the mountains were plaster which  is mostly on the left and foam board.  I really like carving foam better but the combination of both is great.
