I would like to buy a hobby horse press with wheel cups and tools. Is there some place that I can buy or research one I have Lionel 773 1964 model and the center wheel stud screw is broken off in the wheel. Like to get this fix.

The HH-1000 press is available here. Call Jeff for the wheel cups for the 773.
A very expensive tool to do just one wheel. Try taking the loco and wheel to a nearby Lionel authorized repair center to reinstall the wheel.

Larry I do enough repairs to justify the cost. I can put the press to good use. I have contacted Jeff Kane. He has a press and basic tools. He is trying to order the wheel cups and has no idea as to when he will have them in stock

Have had one for years. Great tool. Have collected wheel cups and rivet tools. If you like to tinker, the cost does not matter. I doubt I have justified it but do not care. It is a boat anchor!

It would be easy to fix it, if being all original is not an issue.
Fill in the stripped or broken area of the wheel with J B Weld metal filled epoxy. You can then install the screw and let is set up or and let it cure and drill and tap it for the screw. Another way might be to fill the spot and put paraffin on the screw and put it place to cure. Then you would be able to remove the screw if needed. It probably would not even show as being repaired. If such an repair is okay with you the next owner can replace the wheel!

Have you thought about contacting Hobby Horse directly? Carl is the owner and he is very helpful.
