It would be easy to fix it, if being all original is not an issue.

Fill in the stripped or broken area of the wheel with J B Weld metal filled epoxy.  You can then install the screw and let is set up or and let it cure and drill and tap it for the screw.  Another way might be to fill the spot and put paraffin on the screw and put it place to cure.  Then you would be able to remove the screw if needed.  It probably would not even show as being repaired.  If such an repair is okay with you the next owner can replace the wheel!
