My family and I wall be near the Dells for the week, I was wondering if there were any train/hobby shops in the area to check out. A quick search on the Internet did not turn up anything promising. I am wondering if anyone more more familiar with the area then I would know.

The best O-gauge shops in WI I know are Sommerfeld Trains in Butler, and GB Train shop in Green Bay.
For train related you can look up Riverside & Great Northern Railway in the Dells, for 15" gauge live steam rides. Mid-Continent Railway Museum is outside Baraboo in North Freedom, not to far from the Dells.

The Dells is largely a tourist area, not a major population center, so you are not going to find much in the way of O gauge hobby shops there.
The shops in the Milwaukee area include Sommerfeld's Trains (Butler, about 2 1/2 hours from the Dells) and Hiawatha Hobbies (Waukesha/Pewaukee, about 2 hours).
There is a hobby shop in Beaver Dam, Kornely's Craft & Hobbies, not too far from the Dells, but it doesn't have much O gauge stuff.
Madison, a hour south, is down to one big hobby shop, and not very much O.
La Crosse, an hour west, has two hobby shops, but I am not sure about their train stock.
Buffalo Phil's has a train bring your your food and drink . That would be my suggestion, great for young and old alike.
