I am always fascinated by large rail terminals that have been refurbished to great shape and still serve the purporse for which they were built. I have yet to visit Hoboken Terminal but it looks busy. Any idea as to how many weekday trains serve the terminal?

It's served by 6-8 NJT commuter lines (some split). I don't know the train count but it's pretty high. Pascack Valley has 18 trains on a weekday (inbound) and that's one of the lighter routes.
This station is a rail historian's dream and is well documented. It still has ferry boats plying the Hudson River to Manhattan. -or take the PATH train -(old H&M) under the Hudson to Manhattan. New cars, but original tunnel. The station was restored over the past few years--only to take a hit from super storm Sandy.
The waiting room is a classic-with the original ferry slip/ pass. ramps in view.
Even the original clock tower was restored.
The train shed itself was unique and drew many film crews. Not sure of it's status now.
Whoops-almost forgot that the light rail line stops here also.
Hope someone can chime in with pics and better update.

A few shots I've taken at Hoboken through the years. It really is an awesome building. You can just feel the history there

Waiting Room is finally under repair after Sandy. Right now with the colder weather they are using two cars and a loco on track 8 as a heated waiting room.
None of the vendors really have come back yet after a year other than a small guy just before you go down to the PATH Station.
I remember riding the Erie Lackawana to the ferry to Manhatan. Too many years ago for a firm memory. Is the ferry still there? Before Sandy?
Ferry is still there but they moved it around, I will check in the A.M. as I know it was there and was moved from the side to the front of the terminal bldg by the water.
I don't know when NJT stopped the show it but years ago (90's?) they had a transit exhibition at the Hoboken station each spring....NJT brought in buses, trains and exhibits. The Tuscan GG-1was pulled in along with Conrail equipment. I went two times and both times the place brought in many fans. Even the Oscar Meyer Weiner car was there....VBG!

I attended the last two Try Transit Festivals at Hoboken Terminal. They were held in September. The last one was in 2002.
