Can anybody help me figure this out. Would like to put a sensor track section on using my legacy system but I use a tpc400 to control track power. I purchased the ser2 and the sensor track along with a db9 cable, but this does match up. What am I doing wrong? What else do I need?

Are you talking about a Legacy LCS 6-81294? If so, that takes a separate power supply and cable: 6-81499 for the first LCS. If you buy more, they daisy chain to the first one.

The sensor track I have is a 82869 with ser2 # 81326
Lionel makes several different LCS Sensor Tracks with different catalog #s. I think for the first one, they all take the separate power supply and cable. Check the box label, lower right corner for what is needed but not included.

Bob, if the DB9 cable you referred to is the 6-81499 LCS DB-9 Cable with Power Supply, then the DB9 connector gets plugged into the Legacy Base or Y cable. The other end of that is the small PDI bus connector which gets plugged into the first LCS module. The other LCS modules are diasy-chained together. Lionel's LCS System Diagram is a good reference. The LCS DB-9 Cable provides 12v DC power to the LCS modules. Nothing works with LCS without this power source.
The TPC-400 needs serial data to operate. Ser2 provides terminals for connecting serial data & com lines to your TPC (or you can connect the DB9 cable you previously used for the TPC to the Ser2).
