Should the horn sound after all setup operations on the CC-M? For example, if I change the speed steps, enable/disable cruise, or change the motor size?

Nope, the only way that happens is if you use the serial data output from the CC-M to go to the audio board. The CC-M injects those beeps into that serial stream, but if the sound card never sees that serial stream, it doesn't get the message.

If I cut the connection/trace for the serial data on the header (pin 10) for the modular RS board, and then wire the CC-M serial data output directly, Will I get those confirmation sounds, and all the original sounds?
That's how it's supposed to work, truthfully I've not bothered to go that extra mile.
