Engines can vary in pulling power. I have three Williams engines that can pull a considerable consist of cars. But what about the traditional post-war Lionels? For you folks that have the old locos and diesels, what do you have and what can you pull with them without straining the motor?

Well. I have a 736 Berk that will pull stuimps. I have not been able to stall it, but I don't abuse it. However, this is steel, tubular track-without something for that big ALNICO magnet to grab onto I doubt it would do nearly as well.

Honestly, I have a little 221 with new drivers w/rubber tires. It can pull a whistle tender and five metal passenger cars
