I'm a novice with Lionel Command. I have an EP5 with TMCC but have kitbashed the loco into a diesel. How do I change the sound file to a Diesel sound?

The cannot be done through software. As far as I know, you'd have to swap out a board.
Dave, You would need to get the appropriate RS Chip or RS Board from Lionel. I don't think they do that with out an exchange, or try to find a diesel RS board on the bay. G

I had to change my EP-5 from a diesel to an electric, apparently the folks at K-Line thought that the EP-5 was a diesel. 
I really wish there were more choices of RailSounds chipsets for other sounds than the few offered by ERR.
U must change the board to a snd set u like
You can actually just change the two RailSounds chips on the board, I've done it multiple times.
