I'm going to wire up my LCS Wi-Fi control but the instructions say My cab-2 base needs to be 1.52 or higher. How can I tell and if it isn't do I need a module to update my cab 2 base?

Assuming you have a cab 2 remote. The display will tell you which version is in the base ,as well as the remote. When the remote and base are powered up.

Well you are just going to have to wire up your LCS supply, fire up that Wifi, get your PC connected to the wifi, and then see if the Legacy System utility is working. It either does or doesn't. If it doesn't, well then you kinda have your answer. So then you connect your PC directly to the base serial port, write an update module, update the base, and then re-plug in your LCS system and wifi.
Again, either way, you are going to be needing and using the Legacy System Utility. The easy way (IMO) is over wifi, however, if that's not up and running, well then physical serial port cable.
Hopefully you have a writeable module around.

In the same token. Instead of going through the trouble of getting a module and downloading the software . Why not borrow a 1.6 base module from a friend or a forum member?

If you still have the cab2 and it doesn’t work, you can sent the base and cab2 to Lionel and they will fix it and update it for free.

Chris, surely there is someone closer to you that can get you updated module(s) faster. But, if not, send me an email and I will modify your two blue modules to writable with current Legacy versions.
I have 1.6 base and handheld modules

FWIW, the current CAB2 software is 1.70, the base is 1.60.
