How Long is an O scale Challenger

Mth full scale is 35 inches Lionels is 32

Measures:32 x 3 1/8 x 4 1/8

Thanks!, J. Miller....Looks like I will have to add on to this, which is no surprise.  Since

railroads would have done the same, I guess different styles of wood siding won't

be a problem....maybe I'll do the add-on in "stone".

And don't forget to add an inch or two more so the doors close and those O scale workman can move around the engine without having to climb ove the couplers all the time!!

at 121' 10", a UP Challenger should be 30.5" in O scale.  i imagine the extra length of the 3-rail models is due to an increased drawbar and coupler size.

Like overlandflyer says, it should be right at 30.5 inches or so.  My Vision Challenger is right at 32, but it has a non-prototypical gap between loco and tender and big couplers, so . . .

Thanks, all.  I think I will build for 36".  All the Challenger would do is sit on a depowered siding, look pretty, and gather dust, as a "helper" for freights to get through the Royal Gorge, but the Grande connection will just be about six feet of straight track, so there will be nowhere for it to run.
