Hi everyone, I am trying to collect all of the Lionel 21" Texas Special aluminum passenger cars. I am wondering how many there are in total, I know there are four of them in the #25512 Passenger set with the E7 loco's, plus the #25512 two pack. Any help would be apricated.

There was also a separate Station Sounds diner, as I recall.

They made 7 cars in 2007. 4 came with the AA units as a big set, 2 car add on and one sound diner. 6-31755, 6-25512 and 6-25496
7 cars were then made again in 2015 Vol 2 Catalog. Diaphragms were different on the new cars, 6-82574, 6-82579 and 6-82887
Sound diner from 2015 had legacy, 2007 sound diner was tmcc.
I believe the 2007 set used K-Line tooling. The 2015 cars are plastic using the later Lionel tooling. If so, they would differ slightly in height and width. Around 2012 they had cataloged 18” metal cars but later canceled them for the 21” plastic cars.
